At the end of the Teaching Unit, the student will be able to : - taking a geographical look at the landscape - mobilise the theoretical knowledge of the co-requisite courses to apply it in the field - describe, structure, and map openfields, bocages, and peri-urban landscapes - transferring observations made in the field to other case studies

The teaching unit is structured around 3 field days: Field day Hesbaye - Pays de Herve : Openfields and Walloon Bocages Field day in Lille: the landscapes of a European metropolis Field day in Haugimont - Peri-urbanisation: Towards a new typology of the Walloon countryside
Continuous assessment: -Field notebooks -Reports Written exam: A question on the content of the field days is likely to be asked during the written exam of Geography and Geology of Belgium, co-requisite of this course.
