Since September 2023, Marc Hennequart, Professor of Biochemistry and Cell Biology at UNamur, has been conducting groundbreaking research into pancreatic cancer. His team, based at the Faculty of Medicine and the Institut Narilis, studies the early stages of oncogenesis (the process of transforming a normal cell into a cancerous one) to better understand the metabolic changes behind this particularly aggressive cancer.

How can data analysis contribute to sustainable development and the social profit sector? This is the challenge answered by students in the Bachelor of Management Engineering program at the Faculty of Economics Management Communication sciencesPo (EMCP) at the University of Namur. On December 12, 2024, they presented their projects at the Namur Stock Exchange, after three months' work on data analyses carried out in collaboration with partners in the social profit sector. They explored themes essential to this sector and our society, as part of the "Data Analytics" course, taught by Claire Deventer in partnership with the King Baudouin Foundation and leading representatives of the social profit sector in Belgium.

An analysis of voter turnout in October 2024This analysis presents a comparison of voter turnout in Wallonia, Brussels and Flanders. On the one hand, the report identifies the profiles and political attitudes of voters who abstained (representative survey of the Belgian population). On the other hand, the report presents the evolution of abstention and electoral participation according to institutional and political contexts in Wallonia. It was against this backdrop that the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Namur inaugurated its new "One Health" teaching unit (UE) on Thursday February 06, 2025, in the presence of Minister Yves Coppieters. This initiative, offered to all UNamur undergraduates, aims to train tomorrow's healthcare professionals in a systemic vision, where human, animal and environmental health are considered as one and the same reality.
