Energy and water consumption awareness campaign 2022-2023

Like any large structure that has to welcome thousands of people every day in the best possible conditions, the university has been hit hard by the rise in energy prices. An increase that is likely to have a long-term impact on our resources. It's a reality.In order to raise awareness throughout the Community as winter approaches, UNamur has launched an internal campaign starting December 1, 2022. The aim? Adopt together the right gestures which, when added up across our institution, will have a major impact on our heating, electricity and water consumption.

Sustainable mobility - by bike

Namur is a city that lends itself fairly well to cycling, despite a few black spots (mainly bridges and major roads). Public facilities are located in flat areas, as is the entire university campus. The city center, whether pedestrianized or not, is easy to cycle around, and bikes can be parked almost anywhere on campus.

Multi-modal mobility

It's possible to combine train-bike journeys, train-bus journeys,...TRAIN + BIKESeveral solutions exist for combining train and bike:take your bike (classic) with you on the train (€5 per journey, €8 per day)the foldable bike is an excellent way of getting to the nearest station or bus stop, while keeping your bike with you to use later at your destination. From March 2009, the SNCB will be offering a combined train + folding bike pass that allows you to have a folding bike rented during your journey.rent a bike near the station. This is possible at Pro Velo Place de la Station 1 (€8 per day on average).TRAIN + BUSIt is of course possible to combine train and bus. Thanks to MOBIB, your end-to-end journeys are now fully reimbursed.
