The student benefits from an education that lasts for the 2nd and 3rd baccalaureate during which he/she attends seminars given by lecturers specialised in different fields that are related to veterinary medicine. The student will become acquainted with the many facets of the veterinary profession and will learn to take a critical attitude through debates and discussions with the lecturers.

The following topics are covered: the prevention of psychosocial risks in the veterinary profession, relationship with the owners, ethical questions related to euthanasia, work-life balance, the advantages/challenges of working in multidisciplinary teams (veterinarians, veterinary assistants), managing the online reputation (e reputation), ...At the end of each conference-debate, students must submit a report in which they state their position, particularly with regard to their current status (as students in training) and future status (as aspiring veterinarians).
The student attends the lectures, and is invited to take an active part in the ensuing debate. In the second year of the seminar cycle, in groups and with the help of one of the course instructors, the student will be responsible for preparing and moderating the debate of one of the lectures. After each lecture, the student writes a personal report. At the end of the seminar cycle, the student will have a file, consisting of at least the personal reports and, for each of them, of at least one document deemed necessary or interesting.
Evaluation takes place at the end of the first quadrimester. There is no second session. Seminars are only assessed during the January assessment period.
The assessment is organized in the form of round tables, usually bringing together 5 to 6 students with a moderator (teacher).
Each student is given a topic of veterinary interest on which he/she is expected to do some personal reflection in order to be able to make a presentation and argument, in the presence of fellow students and a supervisor, based on the lectures given, related readings and personal experience. The student will be expected to 'Reflect, Position and Argue' in relation to the topics covered in the lectures.
Specific readings will be recommended or made available to students in relation to the topic of the seminar for which they are preparing the debate.
