Knowledge of modern sources and understanding of the heuristic path to follow in order to study Ancien Régime society.
The course consists of three parts. The first is a presentation and reminder of the works and working tools useful for research in modern history, the second a panorama - as rich as possible - of the sources available in modern history; the third part concerns the places where the documentation is kept and the working tools necessary to locate it. Wherever possible, professional historians and archivists will be invited to present their research and, in particular, the heuristic problems they have encountered.
Written and/or oral examination. Personal exercises
