Learning outcomes

The course focuses on understanding the mechanisms and reasoning involved in applying theoretical concepts to a practical situation.

Content

The neurobiology course deals with the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying behaviour. An introduction recalls some recent concepts at the level of the neuron, the synapse and the neuroglia. An extensive section on perception describes the different sensory systems, from receptors to central projections.  The section on the plasticity of the nervous system shows how this determines the acquisition of new behaviours that may be stored in memory.
