The university community mobilizes in support of Télévie

19 cuistax in the colors of the student collectives pedaled together to complete 1987 laps of the campus. The students put all their energy into achieving this magnificent result, which will be sent to the Fonds National de la Recherche Scientifique via Operation Télévie. The big winners of the race: the Cercle vétérinaire, with 130 laps corresponding to no less than 60 kilometers!

The university community has a long tradition of supporting the Fonds National de la Recherche Scientifique and Télévie through various activities that have evolved over time. This year, students have been particularly involved, putting the 4H Cuistax to work for this important cause: every year, 75,000 people are diagnosed with cancer in Belgium, and 30,000 die from it.

Another new feature: the possibility for the university community to support Télévie via the UNamur online donation platform: thanks to all those who have already come forward! This platform will remain open until the end of April and Operation Télévie 2024.

Our partner, CBC Banque

For the past three years, UNamur and AGE have been able to count on the support of CBC Banque, which stands by their side in this operation. CBC is the French-speaking branch of the Belgian KBC Group. It invests in Wallonia to actively participate in the development of its region. CBC Banque's administrative headquarters are located in the heart of Namur, the Walloon capital, a stone's throw from the university.

Find out more: scientific cancer research at UNamur

Scientists work daily in university laboratories to understand how cancer works and develop new therapies that are more effective against the disease and less damaging to healthy cells. UNamur itself has several laboratories active in the fight against cancer, within the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Science and the NARILIS Research Institute, several of which host Télévie researchers.
