Philosophy is a field I'm passionate about, and one that allows me to combine my literary and scientific interests in a single course of study.
The interdisciplinary nature of UNamur's Bachelor of Philosophy program was a determining factor in my choice of university.
Two elements are quite striking in the UNamur program. Firstly, the range of possibilities open to us is very broad: philosophy of science, art, law or politics are all specializations we can choose from to create a "tailor-made" education for ourselves.
Then, the proximity between students and professors, favored by the small number of students, allows us to have quality follow-up and easily discuss the subject matter (or other subjects) with the academic team.
Another consequence of this proximity and friendliness, and all the more so in the philosophy department: we are very free, and are given the opportunity to get personally involved in the life of the department or research institutes. So, as students, we can, for example, propose or support conferences... it's a real opportunity.
From a geographical point of view, the whole campus is accessible in five minutes, which makes it easy to get around between auditoriums, the library, student circles and encourages contacts with friends from other Faculties.
As a course delegate, I take part in Faculty meetings and student councils. This enriching experience enables me to appreciate how the university takes into account students' opinions on certain projects or developments.
In one sentence, studying at UNamur means making encounters (sometimes unexpected), always enriching.
