Learning outcomes

To acquire elements of critical reflection in epistemology, moral and political philosophy and philosophy of science, especially in relation to biomedicine.

Goals

The aim of the course is to introduce some of the philosophical issues raised by biomedicine and to offer theoretical elements of philosophy of science, epistemology, moral and political philosophy that allow for reflection on these issues.

Content

After presenting the specificity of philosophical argumentation as a reflective process (Chapters 1 and 2), the course addresses questions of philosophy of science, ethics, and political philosophy (Chapters 3-5) related to biomedicine.

Assessment method

The examination is written. The final grade is the result of the evaluation of the theoretical course (4/5 of the final grade) and the evaluation of the seminar (1/5 of the final grade).
