Biography

Laurent Schumacher is a civil electrical engineer (UMons, 1993), specializing in telecommunications, and holds a PhD in applied sciences (UCL, 1999) in electrical science. After a three-year postdoctoral fellowship in Aalborg, Denmark, he joined the Faculty of Computer Science at the University of Namur, where he has taught computer networks and telecommunications technologies since 2003.

He is the author of over thirty scientific publications and numerous research reports under research agreements funded by the European Commission, the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, and the Walloon Region. He participated in the standardization work of 3GPP (TSG Radio Access Network WG1) and the IEEE (Special Committee of 802.11 High Throughput Study Group).
