The Bible is part of the religious and cultural heritage of humanity. The New Testament was written around the person of Jesus Christ in the first century AD. It took several centuries for it to be finally established. Knowing the history of the composition of the New Testament and its writing opens up a better understanding of the inspiration that the corpus has allowed in history and art.
The course presents the way in which the New Testament was written. After setting the geographical and historical context of Palestine in Roman times, the history of the writing of the corpus from the death of Christ to the establishment of the canon of the Scriptures will be examined. We will then move on to the composition of the various books.
A written exam. Questions from previous sessions are put on the campus web to help students understand the type of questions.
