Learning outcomes

Ability to read a scientific article in the economic literature with structured content. Ability to explain in a pedagogical way the important mechanisms and results of a scientific article from the economic literature with a structured content.

Content

The aim is to learn how to read a scientific article from the management literature (general management, marketing, operations & supply chain, information management, strategic management, etc.) with a structured content. The aim is to teach you how to read a scientific article, an exercise that you will have to do by yourself when you do your personal work. The work required in the seminar is to understand the essential idea of the article, the logic of its argumentation, and its implications. It is therefore not necessarily a question of reproducing all the mathematical demonstrations, but of perceiving their usefulness in relation to the author's thesis. Nor is it a question of being 'exhaustive' and having repeated everything the author has written. In addition, some articles can be very technical at the theoretical or econometric level. You should stick to the important ideas.

Assessment method

The assessment will be based on the quality of the written work and the oral defence of that work.
