To present for the main European regions, from the 15th to the 18th century, the different arts and their characteristics.
This course studies the evolution of Italian art since the beginning of the Renaissance, the reactions of Mannerism, Academism and the influence of the new aesthetic north of the Alps. The course then considers, for the 17th and 18th centuries, on the one hand, the Baroque, which is followed by the late Baroque and Rococo, and, on the other hand, Classicism, which leads to Neo-Classicism
The lessons are based on projected reproductions of the works. A very detailed syllabus accompanies the course and is illustrated with a DVD containing all the works seen.
The examination is written.
