At the end of the course, the student will be able to : • to propose course sequences based on active teaching methods; • to think about their course in a scientific way; • to design a field activity in biology; • to take a critical look at a course sequence or a textbook; • to design unambiguous questions; • use and design relevant models and tools for learning in biology.
The objectives of this course are to • to stimulate the creation of experimental and field activities in biology; • to raise awareness of the importance of modelling and representing concepts in biology; • to prepare students to teach biology in secondary schools; • to build learning sequences (theory, exercises and laboratories); • develop and critique methodologies for learning biology;
The didactics and epistemology course does not focus on the subject but on the way it is taught. It is therefore necessary to have a sufficient level of knowledge in biology to understand the ins and outs of the subject. During the course of this unit, the student will be required to : • to carry out an excursion outside the University adapted to a secondary school audience; • the importance of French in a subject such as biology; • working on preconceptions in biology ; • criticize the different tools available around the same theme; • develop lesson plans; • deepen teaching strategies for sensitive and difficult-to-understand topics; • Reflect on the use of ICT in biology ; • ...
The final assessment of this unit takes into account • knowledge of the subjects taught in secondary school; • presentation of a new tool or model and methodological guidelines for its use in secondary education, in the form of an oral examination;
