Learning outcomes

Students will get acquainted with digital ethics. They will read research papers in French and in Englis. They will get to analyse situations through an ethical prism and argue rigorously both orally and in writing.

 

Goals

The first aim of the course will be to introduce the main currents in ethics (utilitarianism, deontological ethics, theory of justice, etc.) and to develop students' argumentative skills. The second objective of the course will be to introduce the main ethical themes within digital ethics: among others, the concept of privacy, the question of consent and online experimentation, the question of distributive justice and discrimination, the question of persuasive technologies, the new questions raised by the use of artificial intelligence tools...

 

Assessment method

The evaluation will be made of a final exam (70%) and assignments (30%).
