Learning outcomes

  • Understanding of the concept and process of digital transformation;
  • Ability to act as a Chief Digital Officer to exploit technological opportunities and formulate a strategy for a given organization;
  • Understanding of the governance modes (IT Governance, Digital Partnerships) to implement digital transformation in organizations;
  • Ability to work as a group to suggest and communicate strategic recommendations related to digital transformation.

Goals

The objective of this course is to provide students with an understanding of the concept and process of digital transformation. It allows students to comprehend the role of Chief Digital Officer and to formulate a digital transformation strategy in terms of objectives, strategic analysis, options formulation, anticipation of barriers, partnerships, etc. In addition, the implementation of this strategy in organizations via IT governance and digital partnerships is addressed. The knowledge of the course is applied on a practical case selected from a list of existing organizations.

Assessment method

The knowledge gained from the course is evaluated in two ways.

On one hand, students write a group report to develop a digital strategy for chosen existing organization (50%)

On the other hand, students present orally, at different key moments of the course, the different steps of their strategy and answer questions about the content of the course (50%)
