At the end of January 2023, the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York) returned a real treasure to Belgium: a medieval charter bearing the seal of the Count of Flanders Philippe d'Alsace, formerly kept in the abbey of Messines (West Flanders), which had disappeared at the beginning of the First World War. François Briard graduated in Law and Management of Information Technology (DGTIC) in 1994 after obtaining his bachelor's and master's degrees in computer science in 1993. He works at CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research in Geneva, the world's largest particle physics laboratory.
