Learning outcomes

At the end of this course, students will be able:

1. To develop a thorough understanding and a critical analysis for change management;
2. To capture, analyze and interpret by using different tools and theories:
a. Nature of a change
b. Steps and actors of change
c. Social dynamics (resistance, resilience, culture, sensemaking, etc.)
d. Strategic and managerial actions to ease and support change in organizations
e. Stakeholders' roles in the change process
3. Critically and reflexively diagnose the key elements (process, support, leadership) of the change process

Goals

The module aims to provide the theoretical, conceptual and empirical bases for understanding change management in organizations. To this end, the course introduces to the main stages of a change process and provides the tools (diagnostic, strategic and managerial skills) necessary for responsible change management caring for people at work. In turn, the course pays particular attention to the contextualization of change management by adressing, for instance, the social dynamics at work and the role - and skills - of the line manager.
Ultimately, the ambition of the module is to develop analytical skills by providing students with both theoretical references and concrete knowledge applicable in organizations.

4. Change and social dynamics
5. Leadership and management

The learning outcomes as follows

- a collective report (50% - group note)

- oral exam (50%)
