Learning outcomes

At the end of this course, students will be capable of:

 

  • Understand the strategic management process, its different stages, its objectives, its key concepts as well as the difficulties related to it
  • Provide conceptual and / or technical solutions to strategic management issues in any organization, and with the integration of sustainability
  • Addressing the strategy problem with a critical view: understanding which strategic management tools are the most appropriate, considering their strengths and weaknesses
  • Adopt a human view of the strategic management process and assimilate the basic concepts of ethical and responsible management


To a lesser extent, teamwork and leadership as well as communication and interpersonal skills will also be developed.

Goals

The course aims to introduce students to the strategic management process and to provide them with methodological tools for analysis, diagnosis, choice and strategic implementation. The objective is also to allow students to apply, critically, the concepts and tools seen in the course.

Content

Introduction to strategic management, decision making, diagnosis of the company and its environment, strategic formulation, prioritization and strategic implementation

Teaching methods

Classical "ex-cathedra" sessions in which key concepts and tools of strategic management are presented, and examples are discussed. More practical sessions are also organized, where students are the central actors and are proactive.

Assessment method

The evaluation methods (1st session and re-sit) will be specified during the first course and indicated in the slides on Webcampus.
