It's impossible to forget Namur's Faculty of Law once you've been there! The mutual attachment is very real during and after studies, and contacts remain numerous in what could be described as "the Namur spirit".

That's why some alumni founded ADANam, the Association des Anciens de la Faculté de Droit de Namur.

It helps maintain a privileged contact between alumni by organizing activities, giving the opportunity for reunions in a convivial atmosphere.

And since our alumni have generally become law professionals, they continue to train in Namur: either through a specialized master's degree or doctorate, or by becoming an assistant or researcher there, or through colloquia, conferences and so-called 'continuing' specialized training programs.

The research centers are very active in this field, as is the Association des Juristes namurois (AJN), which enables former and current jurists from the Namur region to get together for a series of lectures on topical issues.

ADANAM's objectives

According to its bylaws, ADANam's aims include:

  • establishing and developing links of cooperation and friendship between its members and alumni;
  • enhancing the skills, qualifications, professions and experience of its members and alumni;
  • ensuring the development and influence of the Namur Law Faculty.

To achieve this goal, the association develops the following activities:

  • organizing events to strengthen the bonds of friendship between its members and between alumni;
  • organizing training courses and conferences;
  • exchanging information relating to alumni, the legal professions and the activities of the Faculty of Law;
  • financial support for programs and activities ;
  • creation and maintenance of contacts with other student associations or professional associations;
  • development of useful contacts with any similar association, Belgian or foreign;
  • dissemination of job vacancies to which members and alumni might have access;
  • organization of a job exchange.

The association may carry out all acts relating directly or indirectly to its activities. It may, moreover, lend its support and take an interest in any activity aimed at achieving the goal it has set itself.

Admission requirements

Any alumnus of the Law Faculty of the University of Namur who submits a written request (by post or e-mail) to the Board of Directors.

  • all holders of a master's degree in specialization issued exclusively by the Namur Faculty of Law;
  • Honorary members are any natural or legal person who has distinguished themselves by eminent services rendered to the association. A maximum of 5 honorary members are appointed unanimously by the Board of Directors.
