Learning outcomes

The aim of this course is to bring students to a B1/B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Students will be encouraged to improve and deepen their knowledge of German grammar, syntax, lexicon and morphology according to their communicative needs. The course aims at acquiring a thorough vocabulary to enable students to read press articles and scientific texts in their field of expertise in order to pursue studies or participate in an Erasmus programme in a German-speaking country or to integrate into the professional world. The course is aimed at preparing students who would like to apply for a recognised certificate such as the Goethe Zertifikat.

Content

The course has several aspects: an extension of the basic vocabulary necessary to deal with everyday situations and specific areas according to the respective needs of the participants, a deepening of the grammar notions to improve written and oral expression, listening comprehension and reading comprehension.

Assessment method

A written test (70% of the overall mark) and an oral test (30% of the overall mark) will be organised in June. In the event of failure (less than 10/20), these tests may be repeated in August/September. An exemption will be granted for the part passed in June and the mark for this part will be carried forward for the calculation of the overall mark in August/September.
