Inclusion is one of the priorities of the Erasmus+ program in the 2021-2027 programming period. It is understood as the program's ability to promote diversity in all its forms as a valuable source of learning, both by funding projects that put inclusion at the heart of their activities and by facilitating access to mobilities for people with fewer opportunities. Participants with fewer opportunities (AMO) can benefit from mobility formats, as well as specific financial support under the Erasmus+ program.

Each EU member state, via its national agencies, defines the notion of a student with fewer opportunities. In FWB, "AMO" students are:

  • Students who receive a study grant from the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles during the year of mobility, or who have received a study allowance from the FWB in the year prior to departure, or
  • Students of modest means, i.e. who benefit from a reduced registration fee from the Student Social Service (€374 or €485 instead of €835), or
  • Students who fall into one of the following categories:

- recipients of a social integration income;

- with the status of a close carer;

- with an employment contract (excluding school vacations) and who would lose their income during mobility;

- being a "solo parent" and who would go away with a child not yet in compulsory education.

NOTE: Students in receipt of a non-refundable allowance from UNamur's Student Social Service will have the "AMO" rates applied, thanks to assistance from the Wynants-Sudan Fund.

Special-needs students are potential participants whose personal physical, mental or medical conditions are such that their participation in the mobility project or action would not be possible without additional financial support. They can benefit not only from financial support, but also from tailor-made accompaniment, offered in close collaboration with colleagues from the "Students with special needs" department, which operates within UNamur's Cellule Médico-Psycologique.

If you are enrolled in a Master's program and do not fall into the category of AMO students, but would like additional financial assistance for your international mobility project, you should know that the Cellule sociale can help you, notably via a loan system.
