Since 2008, the FWB universities' ADREs, brought together within the LiEU (Liaison Entreprises-Universités) network, have benefited from joint funding from the ESF and the Walloon Region with the MIRVAL (2004-2014) and MIRVAL+ (2014-2020) programs, enabling the organization of the Network, the promotion of skills and the raising of awareness among researchers.

For 2021-2027, the project is entitled MIse en Réseau de la VALorisation de l'Innovation Stratégique (MIRVALIS) and is supported by the Feder and Wallonia.

The 3 pillars of the MIRVALIS project

  • CATCH4IMPACT: Understand the needs of socio-economic development players and best position university teams to meet them.
  • BOOST4IMPACT: Accelerate the transfer of knowledge from laboratories to these players.
  • SHARE4IMPACT: Optimize the resources made available to universities to achieve objectives in terms of creating value from research results.

Objective

Increase the impact of university research on the economic and social development of our Region, and in particular in connection with the Walloon Strategic Innovation Areas (SIAs).

This project is being carried out in partnership with all the FWB universities (UCLouvain, ULB, ULiège, UMons, UNamur) and the Synherra network for the higher education institutions, under the aegis of Wallonie Entreprendre, leader of the "Valorisation de la recherche" portfolio.

Advisors at the service of researchers and companies

Scientific advisors for commercialization are professionals in business/research collaboration. They work in a network to facilitate companies' access to the skills and equipment of the 10,000 researchers brought together by the FWB's academic institutions. 6 working groups are organized by professional sector, representing unique gateways to university skills:

Agro-food | Materials | Health and Life Sciences | Energy and Environment | Digital Technologies | Humanities and Social Sciences

The LiEU Network works within an innovative ecosystem in which interactions between innovation players are numerous and sought-after. Professional federations, the EasyNove intermediation network, competitiveness clusters, incubators and public authorities all maintain close relationships and take advantage of their complementarities.
