The faculty of Computer Science is one of the oldest European faculties focused on information system engineering. It has about 300 students, 80 staff members, including 16 full-time professors and over 50 researchers. Since its creation in 1969, the faculty has graduated over 1.800 students, all of them with highly appreciated qualifications at the international level.

The research conducted at the faculty of Computer Science focuses on the development and management of information and communication systems, covering both engineering and fundamental aspects. Its multidisciplinary, holistic approach aims at considering the many challenges and the impact of ICT on business and society. The faculty has established numerous collaborations with other disciplines, including law, management, sociology and ethics.

The faculty of Computer Science is one of the two organizations in the world (together with the Business Transformation Agency of the U.S. Department of Defense) to have received a Stevens organization award, granted in 2014, for having "built, fostered, and nurtured a research environment [...] with a long and continuing reputation for deep contribution to theory, research, practice, and technical outreach in software and data engineering"
