This page concerns students from outside the European Union.
The amounts indicated will come into effect in the 2026-2027 academic year, subject to the adoption and publication in the Belgian Official Gazette of the decree on progressive tuition fees.
Administrative fees
All HUE applications will be thoroughly reviewed by the admissions committee of the relevant faculty. The purpose of this review is to verify that a set of academic and administrative criteria have been met. The review of your application by the relevant committee is subject to a flat fee of €200 to cover administrative costs. This is a prerequisite for your application.
Bank guarantee
If you are a non-EU citizen, you must prove that you have sufficient financial means to cover your study and living expenses for the duration of your studies in order to obtain a long-stay visa (or extend your Belgian residence permit).

You are a member of a country outside the European Union listed in Annexes 2, 3, and 4 of the ARES circular
- Full registration fees: €1,194
You are a member of a country outside the European Union listed in Appendix 1 of the ARES circular:
€5,369 from 2026-2027, except for students enrolled in 2024-2025 and under the following conditions:
- Undergraduate students who paid an increased fee in 2024-2025 and remain enrolled in the same program in 2026-2027 will be subject to the 2024-2025 regime (until 2026-2027 at the latest).
Other master's and doctoral programs
Other purposes within the same master's program: Tuition fees: €372
Doctorate or doctoral program: First-year registration fees: €1,194
Tuition fees for subsequent years: €32 (amount to be confirmed)
Financial intervention
Foreign students from outside the European Union or equivalent must pay a contribution in addition to the €835 registration fee. Students from the least developed countries according to the list established by the United Nations are not subject to this contribution.
The Foreign Students Commission may grant, according to criteria it has established, full or partial financial assistance for the payment of this contribution.
