The amounts listed will take effect starting with the 2026–2027 academic year, subject to the adoption and publication in the Belgian Official Gazette of the decree regarding the progressive tuition fee.

Application processing fee

All HUE applications will be subject to a thorough review by the admissions committee of the relevant faculty. The purpose of this review is to verify that a set of academic and administrative criteria has been met. The review of your application by the relevant committee is subject to the payment of a flat fee of €200 to cover administrative costs. This is a prerequisite for your application. 

The bank guarantee

If you are a non-EU national, you must prove that you have sufficient financial means to cover your tuition and living expenses for the duration of your studies in order to obtain a long-stay visa (or to extend your Belgian residence permit). 

Registration fees

Bachelor's Degree - Master's Degree - Specialized Master's Degree

You are a citizen of a country outside the European Union listed in Annexes 1, 2, and 3 of the ARES circular available below:

  • Your total registration fees amount to €1,194

If you are a citizen of a country outside the European Union that is not listed in any of these three annexes, your tuition fees amount to €5,369.

Exception: Students enrolled in undergraduate (bachelor’s) programs since the 2024–2025 academic year, who paid an increased fee in 2024–2025 (€2,505) and who remain enrolled in the same program in 2026–2027 will be subject to the 2024–2025 fee schedule (through 2026–2027 at the latest).

Other specializations within the same master's program: Tuition: €372 

Doctorate or doctoral program: First-year tuition: €1,194

Tuition for subsequent years: €32 (amount to be confirmed)

Financial assistance

International students from countries outside the European Union or those considered equivalent must pay a fee in addition to the €835 tuition fee. Students from the least developed countries, as defined by the United Nations, are exempt from this contribution.

The International Student Commission may, based on criteria it has established, provide full or partial financial assistance toward the payment of this contribution.
